Baby Changing

You don’t need lots of equipment to create a practical baby changing station. The essentials include:

• Nappies – keep a good supply close at hand.
• Wipes or cotton wool and water – for gentle cleaning.
• Nappy cream – if needed / using.
• Changing mat – choose one that’s practical and fits your changing area.
• Muslins – always useful for little spills and messes.
• A nappy caddy – a handy way to keep all your changing essentials organised and within easy reach.

Choose a location that’s convenient for you and keep everything you need close by. Most importantly, never leave your baby unattended on a changing surface, even for a moment.

Having a few nappy-changing essentials packed and ready to go can make trips out with your child that much easier. Depending on how long you’ll be out, you’ll usually want to take:

• Nappies – pack a few more than you think you’ll need, just in case.
• Baby wipes or cotton wool – for quick and easy clean-ups.
• Nappy cream – if your baby uses one.
• Changing mat – a portable mat is ideal for changing on the go.
• Muslins – handy for spills, dribbles and unexpected messes.
• Nappy bags – useful for disposing of dirty nappies when a bin isn’t nearby.
• A change of clothes – because accidents do happen!

A compact nappy caddy or changing bag can help keep everything organised and easy to find, so you’re not rummaging around when you need a clean nappy in a hurry.
